Programme Team

WINGS couldn’t happen without an amazing team of volunteers and that’s where you come in. Whether you’re available in the run-up, during the event, or to help with the pack-down afterwards, we’ll always have something for you to do. 

We have a wide range of roles available, and rest assured: there will never be a shortage of things to do as we prepare for another unforgettable WINGS. 

Take a look at the roles below and think about what suits your skills, whether it’s something you do in your day job, something you’ve done at past events, or even something you’ve always wanted to try! 

Lead-Up & During the Week – Include but are not limited too: 

• Administration – Kit tracking, Excel, comms with Procurement 

• Procurement – Sourcing and buying kit/materials 

• Logistics – Moving kit and people from A to B and back again 

• General Support – Coordinating people onto and off transport, acting as an info point 

During the Week – Include but are not limited to; 

• Team-Spirited Game Makers – Team Games / Wet Games / Queue Management / Performance 

• Craft Activities – Help young people explore their creative side 

• Permit Holders – Of any kind! (Please state your permit type) 

• Backwoods – Fires, knots, pioneering, bushcraft, and nature skills 

• Kit Maintenance / Repair – Quick fixes for damaged kit (tents?, tools, props); helpful to have a “Fix-it” on call. 

• Runners / Floaters – Extra hands to step in where needed on the day, covering breaks, helping with setup/pack down. 

• WINGS In A Day – Support our littlest members for the day/s. 

• Session Facilitators – Confident delivering short workshops or hands-on activities (ideal for specialists in STEM, arts, performance, sustainability, etc.)
