Head of Human Resources

Outside of scouting, I am a primary school headteacher in Windsor. I have been involved in scouting in Maidenhead since I was 10 years old; going through scouts and venture scouts before becoming a Cub Leader. I have just received my 20 year service as an adult leader and continue to enjoy the experiences that scouting offer. I am a District Cub Leader in Maidenhead and an Occasional Helper in High Wycombe, where I have been involved in the Gang Show for 10 years. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the ‘Gang’ and have performed on stage and carried out a back stage role in this time. Be warned that if anyone gives me a microphone – I just can’t stop myself!

I wanted to take on the role of Head of HR for WINGS as I felt I could use some of my professional experience in recruitment, training and deployment of people to support the phenomenon that is WINGS! I truly believe that we don’t want to turn anyone away who wants to be involved but we do need to find the right roles for every volunteer. The task of finding 1000 volunteers is daunting but one I know we will achieve!

I am very excited about WINGS 2020 and am enjoying the planning stages of the camp. Every time we appoint a new person to the team, we are another step closer to planning an awesome experience for everyone who attends! I look forward to meeting many new volunteers and returnees over the coming months.
