Hello! I’m Sarah Ellison and I’m really excited to be part of the team to bring WINGS 2020 to my
home town of Windsor. I’ll be supporting Rob to make sure that we have the 1,000 volunteers we
need to make this event a huge success.
I’m a Brownie Leader, going by the name of Hedgehog, at 1 st Warfield Brownie in Bracknell North.
I’ve been with them for over 10 years and also spent an additional 11 years in Guiding as a Brownie,
Guide and Young Leader. It would have been more had Rainbows existed when I was 5! I also have
Mentoring and DBS roles within the North Ascot and Bracknell North District. I took some of my girls
to WINGS 2014 and had such a fantastic day that I felt compelled to join the 2020 team.
Guiding is a huge part of my life; my husband and I invited my unit to our wedding, our baby son
occasionally comes to Brownies with me and just as soon as he’s old enough will be given the
opportunity of joining Scouting. I have also done a charity tandem skydive in aid of Guiding, raising
well over £1,000.
My day job is the EMEA and APAC HR Business Partner at SMART Technologies, who manufacture
and sell interactive screens into the education sector. I like to think that we are changing the way
children learn and enabling our future generations to be the best they can, very much as we do
being part of Guiding and Scouting.
I look forward to meeting new and returning volunteers over the coming months and seeing
participants having a fantastic WINGS 2020!
