Role purpose |
- To support the Social Media Team lead with promoting WINGS 2026 on social media channels
- To be responsible for the production and delivery of social media content across channels

Key activities of the role: |
Specific Responsibilities
- Support with the development of a comprehensive social media plan for content before, during and after the event.
- Maintain the Jamboree’s social media presence across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and others.
- Create engaging content for social media channels to help promote WINGS 2026 before, during and after the event. Including text, images, videos, and stories, for different social media platforms.
- Monitor and report on the performance of your activities (the Social Media Team Lead will work with you to identify measurement)
- Community management, monitoring social media activity, responding to comments and queries, and engaging with community members.
- Collaborate with other Jamboree delivery teams.
- Ensure consistent messaging, tone of voice and branding.

Time Commitment |
- Your involvement will begin as soon as your appointment has been confirmed and will end when the WINGS 2026 camp closes.
- You will need to identify the amount of time the role will take on a month to month basis between appointment and camp close
- As well as attending the WINGS 2026 event itself, you will be expected to attend Programme Team meetings as required

Role requirements |
By accepting this role:
- You will be required to become a member of WAGGGS or WOSM if not already.
- You will be required to hold a current DBS Disclosure through either Girlguiding or The Scout
- You will be required to hold a county appointment in one of Girlguiding Royal Berkshire or Berkshire
The appointee must:
- accept the values of Scouting and Guiding
- agree not to promote any beliefs, behaviours or practices that are not compatible with the values of Scouting or Guiding
- agree to work within the polices and rules of both Associations
- have not been convicted of any other offence(s) or subject to disciplinary proceedings relevant to this role

Capabilities |
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate a number of the following competencies:
- Interest and experience in delivering social media content across social platforms
- Proficiency in using organisation social media pages and content scheduling tools
- Experience in using social media for an organisation or group (beyond personal use)
- Knowledge of content creation tools and editing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good time keeping skills and experience of working to a deadline
