Every adventure has its heroes. Some stand in the spotlight, their stories told around campfires and shared in photographs for years to come. Others work quietly behind the scenes, building the foundations that make those stories possible.
At WINGS 2026, thousands of young people created memories that will last a lifetime. They challenged themselves, discovered new passions, forged friendships across the world and experienced moments of joy, wonder and belonging that they will carry with them long after the final tent was packed away. But none of that happened by chance.
Behind every activity, every performance, every gathering place and every shared moment stood an incredible community of partners and supporters. They may not always be the faces seen in the photographs, but their impact can be found in every smile, every achievement and every unforgettable experience. They are the quiet heroes of our story, and today we want to recognise them, celebrate them, and simply say thank you.
There are some supporters without whom WINGS simply could not happen, and The Royal Parks and Windsor Great Park team sit firmly at the top of that list.
Their support gave us a home, but not just any home, a truly magical setting where young people from around the world could come together to learn, grow, explore and create memories that will last a lifetime.
The beauty and sense of wonder that Windsor Great Park brought to WINGS was woven into every moment of the jamboree, and we cannot thank them enough for making it possible.
Some of the most important contributions to WINGS happened behind meeting room doors, in planning discussions and through months of careful collaboration. We are incredibly grateful to our local authority and community partners whose advice, support and commitment helped turn an ambitious vision into reality. Their work may not feature in participants’ photos or memories, but it helped create the conditions for every adventure, friendship and life-changing experience that followed.
A huge thank you to Addo Play Ltd for bringing the iconic Meccano experience to the Artisan’s Guild.
Throughout WINGS, young people immersed themselves in the challenge and satisfaction of building something with their own hands, discovering the focus, patience and creativity needed to bring their ideas to life.
The activity proved hugely popular, sparking curiosity and giving participants the simple joy that comes from creating, problem-solving and seeing a project take shape piece by piece.
Our sincere thanks to Maidenhead Men’s Shed for building and donating four Da Vinci Bridges, bringing engineering to life for hundreds of young people at WINGS.
Through hands-on challenge and discovery, participants explored the principles of bridge design, construction and structural strength, learning how simple techniques can create remarkable load-bearing structures.
The activity inspired curiosity, problem-solving and a deeper appreciation of the ingenuity behind engineering.
Thank you to Premier Forest Reading for sourcing, cutting and delivering hundreds of bird box kits for the Artisan’s Guild at a generous trade price.
Their support allowed young people to get hands-on with a practical craft activity, creating something that will continue to provide a home for wildlife long after WINGS 2026 came to an end.
Thank you to Wokingham Trefoil Guild for donating fabric and preparing bunting shapes for the Artisan’s Guild.
Their generosity helped young people explore textiles, express their creativity and transform simple pieces of fabric into colourful, unique creations that reflected their imagination and individuality.
Before a single activity could begin, a tent could be pitched or a memory could be made, an extraordinary team of infrastructure partners helped transform an empty field into the home of WINGS 2026.
From site planning, marquees and the iconic Big Top, to power, lighting, toilets, showers, waste management, Wi-Fi, medical cover and vehicles, their expertise, professionalism and support created the foundations for everything that followed.
While participants may remember the adventures, friendships and experiences they had, none of it would have been possible without the organisations working tirelessly behind the scenes.

A huge thank you to a few local BIG Yellow Storage sites who generously provided free storage space in the lead up to WINGS 2026.
While visitors may never have seen the boxes, equipment and supplies stored behind the scenes, this support was invaluable, helping volunteers safely store essential items and saving many from turning their homes, garages and spare rooms into temporary WINGS warehouses!
Their generosity helped keep the wheels turning long before the first participant arrived.
No jamboree is built by one person, one team or one organisation.
It takes a community of people willing to share their time, talents, resources and belief in what young people can achieve. While we’ve celebrated many of those supporters here, there are countless others who helped make WINGS 2026 possible.
