What does WINGS stand for anyway…?

As we were packing up to leave the media centre on Monday evening, we were greeted by some of the Guides from Ghana Girl Guides Association, who were on an information gathering exercise.

What does WINGS even stand for, they wanted to know. And if you didn’t know the answer to that question it is Windsor INternational Guides and Scouts Jamboree.

Mission accomplished. But it was then our turn to ask them some questions about their WINGS experiences so far. It turns out they are not first-timers to the UK, but this is their first taste of Windsor!

“We arrived on Friday, and today we’ve been climbing and went to Windsor Castle,” they told us. “It was busy, but we found it very interesting. We are looking forward to boat riding on Friday.”

And, of course, when near the social media area, a selfie with our WINGS 2026 frame is absolutely essential!
