Discover friendship, adventure and experiences
On Thursday evening, we were visited by Karen, who told us all about the Trefoil Guild, a space for anyone over the age of 18 who supports Scouting and Girlguiding. Members of the Trefoil have been involved in numerous aspects of WINGS this week, making sure the event has run smoothly.
“There are Trefoil Guild members here camping with units as leaders or support team,” said Karen. “We have volunteers across many of the Guilds on site, for instance gutting fish, making welsh cakes, and every packed lunch was Trefoil Guild, prepping food so cooks can prepare food and serve.”
Members have also been in the information centre, supporting security with scanning in-and off-site when needed, and organising the buses. Over 20 Trefoil Guild are on site, including the Snowdrops Trefoil Guild from Dorset.
Trefoil Guild is a place to find friendship, get involved in new challenges, and get active in the community. Whether you are involved in Guiding and Scouting, or not, it offers a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people. Yet, there are still some inaccuracies over what Trefoil Guild is all about.
“There is a misconception this is just for old, retired leaders, and that’s not the case,” said Karen. “It’s a place for anyone over the age of 18 to go for friendship, the make new challenges, and to do what you love without the kids!”
